Exploration #1 Being Good

Dear friends,

I am now somewhat settled in this site and want to start my explorations which could be anything from just blabbering to wise idea on anything of general interest. Kindly reflect on the post and give your own opinion good or bad to keep the string going for every body's benefit of knowing different views. Today morning a friend of mine at the breakfast room suggested why not think about 'being good' vs 'good looking'. I added another one 'looking good'. Let me start my blabbering on this.

According to me,

'Being good' is behaving such as we please some one or help some one.

'Good looking' is attracting other's attention.

'Looking Good' is posing as if we are good.

Reflections please, and not 'to please'.

Nature's Love

Ajitha. Amarnath,
I did as you have directed and posted another poem I wrote earlier. I clicked Edit HTML for copy paste. Is it OK? I will remember now.

Nature’s Love

Before the sun rises saffron and crimson herald the day
Waves welcome the sun and reflect colours in eastern bay
In pure joy and abandon a gull streaks with its mate
In nature, there is only love and no hate

Over the fields, flocks of wren sweep in happy refrain
In tune with the song of maidens who go to reap the grain
The gentle breeze kisses their limbs without a date
In nature, there is only love and no hate

Yonder on the hills the streams dance down in glee
In a haste to quench our thirst without a fee
In the sport to feed fruits the green trees compete
In nature, there is only love and no hate

On boughs, they build hives to store nectar, that busy bee
To give animals and people honey absolutely free
Then why do some people cringe, frown and hate?
In nature, there is only love and no hate

Mother

Mother
My first contact with my mother was when I was born
Or even before that when I was smaller than a corn
Did I know that she was to bear and nurture me through her life
Like the very mother earth does to her trees, animals, in fact all life
May not be with her money or land or property as people may want
But with love, affection, concern and sacrifice more sacrosanct
Do we in riches, name and fame in distant lands reciprocate
Just a weekend call with “how are you” and some time to allocate
To keep her charged for full seven days not feeling unwanted
To face the trauma of her geriatric woes undaunted
It is so simple to satiate the thirst of every mother’s spirit
That waits for the ring from her brood every minute
